|A Metro-Detroit native, Madeline Stano first became passionate about environmental justice while witnessing water shutoffs in the Detroit area. She attended the Roeper School and graduated with a bachelors degree in Sociology from the University of Michigan. At the University of Michigan, Madeline participated in a number of human rights, civil rights, and environmentally focused student organizations while continuing to work at non-profits in Detroit. Madeline also created and taught a human-rights service learning course for undergraduates. Madeline graduated from the George Washington University Law school. In law school Madeline interned with Advocates for Environmental Human Rights in Washington D.C., Alternatives for Community and the Environment in Boston, Massachusetts and the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. In her leisure time Madeline enjoys playing outside, riding her bike, cooking and eating beans of all kinds.
